BotReviewer.com Review:
GUI
The CL Robot gui is like most other automation programs. It’s very VB looking, standard grey. CL Robot has a spot up in the top right for entering CAPTCHA codes. A few tabs comprise the other areas you will use in order to post ads.
Ease of use
It’s not the easiest. I will say that. I found the videos to be very helpful. If you’re looking at this program for the first time you’re gonna want to follow them almost step by step. After you get the hang of it, the process becomes easier. I do think this program could work a little easier and automate a few more things. Importing the list of craigslist sites is annoying and could be done automatically. Having to manually load up you ad and information each time is a pain. It would cut some more time off if it would just load up the last ad you displayed.
Support Desk
Support is handled via email and through the tutorial videos. Eddie (CL Robot Creator) is quick to respond and is very very helpful. He’ll also show you a workaround for if and when CL blocks your IP. Which they invariably will. I won’t let on how he recommends you bypass it, but it does work. Again, there’s no forum. Why doesn’t anyone build a community around their product???
Extra Features
A cool feature of this program that my initial poking around didn’t find much of, is the posting of images. It’s great to be able to post pictures and definetely helps when selling or promoting something. The program can “store” an unlimited number of ads. These are basically .txt files that you import into the program. You may also rotate ads, so that you’re not posting the same thing every time.
Functionality
The program works well, you do have to enter CAPTCHA’s at every post. It would be nice to have a method of storing up CAPTCHA entries and then using them to fill the fields. I did notice that CL has FARRRR weaker codes than myspace. Sometimes just 3 letters. So sometimes it’s not too bad. The problem arises when the CL community sees your ad in multiple categories. Out of all the different ads i posted, even when i was 120% within the guidelines, i would be flagged by the community and a moderator would come through and delete all my posts. My IP would be blocked and certain words would trigger a future ad from a different IP to be blocked. Try as i might, i could NOT get CL to lift these blocks. Such a pain in the ass. They’re taking the Myspace approach to these kind of issues and just not even bothering with you. So you have to rotate your ads and post slowly.
Overall Rating
CLRobot is an ALL-IN-ONE auto posting tool that does an AMAZING job and works VERY well. If you do alot of posting this may be something that can REALLY cut down your time. Yes, i know i’m using a lot of capitals, and they are totally justified. *Take it to the chorus…* There are some drawbacks about the program and about the community. The program is not the easiest thing to use and isnt the most beautiful thing to look at. It does get the job done, much faster than doing it by hand. CLRobot gets my vote.
